NAVTEX is part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). It broadcasts weather and navigation warnings, in English on 518 kHz every 4 hours from transmitters all around the world. Increasingly, local language and small craft information is also transmitted on 490 kHz. The ICS NAV6dual dual can monitor both channels simultaneously.

The ICS NAV6dual is a dedicated ‘true’ dual channel NAVTEX receiver. Both the detailed inshore waters forecast and the shipping forecast are automatically received without switching channels.

The ICS NAV6dual offers the same high quality message presentation and dual simultaneous NAVTEX reception as the ICS NAV6dual but without GPS or NMEA repeater screens.
